Covid-19: The easing of the closure in England was delayed until July 19

The Prime Minister said that the final phase of easing closure restrictions in England would be postponed until 19 July.

This meant that most of the remaining restrictions on social media would continue beyond June 21, when they were due to be lifted.

The maximum limit for wedding guests will be removed, but venues still have to adhere to other rules.

Boris Johnson said that there would be a review in two weeks and he was "confident" that the delay would take no more than four weeks.

"We will be watching the situation every day," he said at a press conference on Downing Street, "and if in two weeks we find that the danger has diminished, we reserve the possibility of moving forward with the fourth step and an immediate full opening ".

"At some point, we will have to learn to live with the virus and deal with it as best we can," said the Prime Minister.
